(suprise! they look nothing like this)
I feel obligated to write about Taco Bell’s “Cantina Tacos”. But I can't help but feel like I’m that kid who’s been handed the baseball bat to belt the piñata only to notice that the piñata has been thoroughly pummeled to death with all it’s treats but a scant few remaining. After all there is pretty much a consensus that these tacos are horrible. But I had to try them for myself.
I ordered the steak and carnitas from my local Taco Bell, drove home and opened them up to photo them. First observation? WTF is this chicken sticker? I didn’t order chicken. I unwrapped the chicken and it didn’t really look like chicken. I unwrapped the steak and it kinda looked like steak(it‘s Taco Bell , all their items kinda look like food). I looked back at the other taco and assumed that it was carnitas. It didn’t really look like any carnitas I’d ever had. Someone said, I forget who, that the taco bell carnitas looks like carnitas the cat ate, then threw up. That’s funny cuz it actually tastes like carnitas I ate then craped out then ate again. Except I would never do that. It’s just the only way I can explain how bad it tastes.
The steak isn’t as gross. It’s what you would expect from Taco Bell “steak”. It pretty much tastes the same as the steak from their other steak soft taco; the one with the flour tortilla, lettuce, and weird white sauce. Except this steak “cantina” taco comes on two horrible corn tortillas and no salsa. There’s a wedge of lime for some reason. It’s either for the taco or to squirt in your own eye to spread around the suffering.
