Best of 2005

Since starting this taco hunt in august I've become a more traveled taco eater. While I may not have been able to get to some taco destinations that I had on my radar I foresee 2006 being the year of the taco.

I've had some great tacos this year and I thought I would honor some of these great taco establishments with end of the year taco awards. I can only choose from taco establishments that I have reviewed so if you feel that there is a taqueria or taco truck that deserves to be on this list please let me know and I'll get to them in 06

without further ado

  3. I know you didn't like the carne asada at Sanchez Taqueria on Centinela right around the corner from Taqueria Estilo Mexico, but I always go with the Lomo tacos there. Definitely the best Westside tacos i've had. As far as chains go, I like Tacos Mexico although most locations are in downtown or eastside, they have a location in Las Vegas if you need a fix (right on the strip!)

    dumont,

tacos mexico on the strip? sweet! A few years ago tacos mexico used to have 60 cent tacos. I'll have to check it out again for this taco hunt.

what's a lomo taco? I was at taqueria sanchez on inglewood yesterday and didn't see any on the menu.(i'll check out the centinela location)

  6. Lomo is loin meat. i like it cause its more tender than the asada. Yeah, it may only be at the Centinela location though. looking forward to more of your taco adventures! I'm a taco fan myself

  8. Good lookin' on the reviews. While King Taco gets much love from most people with a clue, it was cool to see El Matador up there. I was introduced to it a couple of years ago, when a co-worker out here in Whittier was raving about "that late-night taco truck has people racing in from pico, bell gardens etc at 2 AM". Also, check out the truck on Alvarado St next to the Vons in Echo Park, just north of Sunset. It's the bomb.
